Job Description:
At Petram, we synthesize data across our clients' businesses to craft compelling, data-driven strategies they can use to improve performance. This role serves as a documented rehearsal for a PE portfolio-company CMO seat, providing direct, practical execution experience rather than a hypothetical promotional path.
In this role, you will gain concrete, proven reps with our multi-brand, acquisition-driven roll-up client platform. You will run customer journey strategy, translate complex M&A-driven audience integration into a coherent lifecycle strategy, and present and defend your strategic roadmap directly to non-marketing operating leadership and C-level executives. Additionally, you will set the AI, digital, and email/SMS advertising technology strategy that supports this growth and lead marketing analysts who build, run, and optimize the resulting campaigns. You will report directly to Petram's leadership team.
This role sits above hands-on platform execution: you will direct and quality-check technical work — campaign builds, segmentation, deliverability. You will present and defend the roadmap and the incremental value it delivers to C-level leadership.
Your focus will span Petram's client portfolio, gaining real-world experience in B2C, multi-location, and PE-backed roll-up environments growing rapidly through acquisition. You will start by leading one marketing analyst, with the team expected to grow alongside our client footprint — making team building and hiring a key part of your path to CMO leadership.
Responsibilities:
Own customer journey strategy and design across Petram's client portfolio, translating business goals, (e.g., acquisition, retention, re-engagement) into multi-touch lifecycle programs — trigger logic, segmentation strategy, and channel sequencing.
Set strategy for SEO and paid digital advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads), integrating paid and organic acquisition into the broader customer journey rather than running it as a siloed channel.
Direct and quality-check technical execution across our CDP/ESP stack (e.g., Blueshift or comparable platforms) — segment architecture, custom attributes, and integrations — built and maintained by the analyst team.
Set channel strategy for email and SMS, including deliverability fundamentals and SMS compliance (10DLC, TCPA), and vet vendor/partner integrations.
Evaluate and pilot AI and emerging ad-tech, both for internal workflow automation and client-facing personalization, deciding which use cases are worth investing in.
Own performance analytics: direct SQL-level analysis, own A/B test design and read-out, and turn campaign data into strategic recommendations that move client business goals — not just a report.
Present strategy, roadmaps, and results directly to client leadership, and hold your own fielding real-time strategic questions from clients and prospects.
Hire, lead, and develop a team of marketing analysts — setting goals, reviewing work quality, building training and enablement material, and running interviews and assessments as the team grows.
Own account-level SOW and roadmap planning, including scope negotiation with client stakeholders.
Skills & Requirements:
7 – 12 years of experience in marketing strategy, lifecycle/CRM, or growth marketing roles, including 4+ years directly owning (not just executing) customer journey or lifecycle strategy.
Hands-on ownership experience with a CDP/ESP platform such as Blueshift, Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud — segment architecture, custom attributes, and integration concepts.
Proven experience planning, running, and optimizing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns end-to-end, plus working knowledge of SEO fundamentals (technical, on-page, content).
Understanding of email & SMS deliverability fundamentals (domain reputation, warm-up, bounce management) and SMS compliance basics (10DLC, TCPA).
Strong data and analytics fluency — able to direct SQL-level analysis, own A/B testing, and translate data into a strategic recommendation, not just a report.
Practical experience evaluating or deploying AI in a marketing workflow, either operationally (AI-assisted reporting/automation) or in-channel (AI-driven personalization, predictive segmentation).
2+ years of experience managing or formally mentoring analysts, including involvement in hiring (interviewing, assessment design) — you're a senior individual contributor ready for greater autonomy, strategic ownership, and decision-making authority.
Experience presenting strategy and roadmaps directly to client or executive leadership, comfortable fielding real-time strategic questions.
At least one prior role spanning multiple clients or brands simultaneously (agency background, or in-house managing multiple business units/brands).
Bonus points if you have:
Experience with home services, multi-location, franchise, or PE-backed roll-up clients
Experience with Google Local Services Ads.
Familiarity with Airtable, Monday.com, Notion, or similar ops/project tooling.
Exposure to SMS/voice integration platforms such as Sinch or Twilio.
Experience building or scaling a marketing analyst function.
Why you would be a good fit:
If you excel at owning strategy end-to-end and want the autonomy to decide what “good” looks like for a client's marketing, not just execute someone else's brief.
If you want a role that blends hands-on technical fluency with boardroom-level client strategy — this sits right at that intersection.
If you're energized by evaluating and piloting new AI and ad-tech rather than waiting for someone else to decide what's next.
If you want to work with visionary leaders focused on fast growth, blending creative thinking with the strategic integration of new ideas and proven solutions.
If managing strategy across multiple private equity portfolios and brands energizes you.
